Talk and take action to help London thrive

Residents in Lambeth are being invited to join a new citywide movement that aims to get all Londoners talking about mental health and wellbeing, and taking action to make London the happiest, healthiest city in the world.

More than two million Londoners experience some form of poor mental health every year and report a lower level of life satisfaction, wellbeing and feelings of self-worth than the national average.  Almost 10% of children and young people living in the capital aged between five and 16 experiences a mental health issue and every week two Londoners take their own lives.

Thrive LDN is supported by the Mayor of London and led by the London Health Board, in partnership with Greater London Authority, Healthy London Partnership, NHS England (London Region), Public Health England (London Region) and London Councils. On 4 July Thrive LDN launched six aspirations for London and a number of actions Thrive LDN and partners will take over the next year:

  • A city where individuals and communities take the lead
  • A city free from mental health stigma and discrimination
  • A city that maximises the potential of children and young people
  • A city with a happy, healthy and productive workforce
  • A city with service that are there when, and where needed
  • A zero suicide city

Thrive LDN now wants to hear what Londoners think of these aspirations and plans, as well as what ideas people have to improve the mental health and wellbeing of their workplace, school, faith group or community, and what support you need to make it happen.

Various events and activities are planned over the summer. Find out more at or @ThriveLDN. Or if you would like to run a Thrive LDN event or invite them to an event you are running email
