Healthwatch Lambeth works to ensure that local people’s views shape health and social care services so that they meet everyone’s needs.

Work Priorities

Our work priorities are focused on the health and care experiences of:

  • Older People, including people with dementia and their carers
  • People affected by poor mental health, including carers
  • Adults with a Learning Disability and their carers
  • Children and families and young people

Gathering people’s views and experience of local health and care services

We travel the borough, asking local residents what they think about services. You’ll find us at fun days, supermarkets, libraries and events organised by other voluntary organisations working in Lambeth. You can also give your feedback online or phone us to share your experiences, tel: 020 7274 8522.

Supporting people to help improve services

We create and promote opportunities for local residents to play a role in shaping their health and care services. This can include helping to check how things are working, assessing the impact of services and even designing improvements. Here are some examples:

Sharing feedback and making recommendations

Alongside evidence from our own outreach and project work, we also gather other information on local health and care services such as:

  • reports from service providers
  • findings from inspections carried out by the Care Quality Commission
  • evidence from other Healthwatch organisations nearby.

We analyse all the information and, where it shows there are problems, we use this evidence to push for improvements. We present regular reports to Lambeth Council’s adult services scrutiny board, feed in evidence through our representatives on other panels and share findings with Healthwatch England.

Our Enter and View power

Our trained Enter and View team visit publicly funded adult health and social care services to check what is going on and hear directly from people receiving care. Find out more about our Enter and View programme.

Healthwatch Lambeth representatives

We have representatives on a range of local panels that make decisions about health and care in the borough, or assess how effective they are. Healthwatch Lambeth representatives provide an essential link to ensure that the views of Lambeth residents are heardwithin the health and social care system. Our representatives inform discussion, influence processes and in some cases, also participate in decision making. Find out more about our representatives’ work.
