Volunteer and career development opportunities: help empower people to record their future care wishes
- Do you believe that people have the right to make their own decisions about the treatment and care they receive?
- Are you passionate about ensuring that everyone’s wishes are respected?
- Are you a good listener looking for a new challenge?
The Lambeth Advance Care Planning Consortium has two exciting opportunities for volunteers and paid workers to help people in Lambeth to record their future treatment and care preferences, either for the end of life or if they become unable to make or communicate decisions:
Advance Care Planning Supporters will provide one-to-one help for people to create their own advance care plan. Training will be on Tuesday 7th April, 9.30am-4.30pm. . Due to coronavirus, the training will be provided online in several short sessions. Please read the role description for details of how to express your interest.
Advance Care Planning Champions will run stalls and workshops in Lambeth to raise awareness about how to plan ahead and record your future treatment and care wishes.
We are currently reviewing our training plans for this role, including an initial session originally advertised for Thursday 23 April. While we identify next steps for the training, please take a look at the role description for details of how to express your interest in becoming a champion.
Don’t worry if you are new to advance care planning. For both roles you’ll receive training and support every step of the way. You’ll be helping people to ensure that their voice is heard when it matters most.
