Our work – public engagement on Integrated Neighbourhood Teams (INTs)
Healthwatch Lambeth has worked with Lambeth Together and the South East London Integrated Care Board to consult and involve residents in the development of Integrated Neighbourhood Teams.
This has been the start of an ongoing conversation about the delivery of more joined-up care to create a seamless experience and reduce variation in outcomes and inequalities.
Our work so far:
-
Community workshops – July 2025
We co-hosted two workshops, online and in-person, for residents to share their thoughts on what good neighbourhood working should look like in Lambeth.
We heard from Lambeth Together staff about what Integrated Neighbourhood Teams will be and why they are being developed. Residents then shared their ideas on where these teams could be based, which services they could include, and what we can learn from services already working well together.
-
Survey – October to November 2025
Nearly 300 Lambeth residents took our survey on neighbourhood working, telling us about the support they would need to stay healthy, live more independently and avoid unnecessary hospital visits.
The survey was distributed online and in-person and was available in six community languages: English, Arabic, Polish, Portuguese, Somali, and Spanish.
-
Focus groups – December 2025 to January 2026
We held focus groups with different community groups in Lambeth representing the neighbourhood priority areas: people experiencing frailty, people who need support with their mental health support and parents/carers of children and young people with complex needs.
Next steps:
We will produce a report outlining the findings from all our engagement opportunities.
What is neighbourhood working?
In Lambeth and across the country, the NHS is working closely with local councils, voluntary groups and community organisations to develop and deliver neighbourhood health services, in line with the ambitions set out in the national 10 Year Health Plan.
Neighbourhood working will transform how we support people’s health and wellbeing by bringing more care closer to home and making services easier to access. It will help people live healthier, more independent lives and reduce unnecessary hospital visits by providing joined-up, personalised care.
Integrated Neighbourhood Teams
Neighbourhood working will work through Integrated Neighbourhood Teams, which will integrate staff from health, social care and voluntary services into a single local team responsible for delivering seamless and coordinated care in a specific neighbourhood. The aim is to provide care that responds not just to clinical needs, but to the full range of a person’s physical, mental, emotional and social needs.
Priority areas
In Lambeth, neighbourhood working will begin by prioritising three key groups:
- People with multiple long-term conditions
- Frailty
- Children and young people with complex needs
