The Survivors Trust and Brook Collaborate on #CheckWithMeFirst project

Organisations collaborate on #CheckWithMeFirst project to help raise awareness of the challenges that young survivors of sexual abuse, assault and trauma may face when accessing healthcare appointments
#CheckWithMeFirst

Sexual Health charity Brook has teamed up with The Survivors Trust to collaborate on the #CheckWithMeFirst project, which aims to raise awareness of the challenges that young people who are survivors of sexual abuse, assault and trauma may face when accessing healthcare appointments and screening services.

The project recognises that for survivors, attending healthcare appointments – from GP visits to sexual health screening – can be a cause for heightened anxiety, often triggering unwanted thoughts or memories. As such, they have put together a page with support and advice, with information on the benefits of STI testing, support in the event of sexual assault and links to nearby services.
