The BRAVE project – Black Reproductive Health: Advancing Voices and Experiences

The BRAVE Project is a research project by Healthwatch Lambeth which set out to better understand Black women's experiences of fibroids and endometriosis care in Lambeth.

The BRAVE project provides important local evidence into the impact of these conditions on women’s health, wellbeing, and quality of life, and identifies how experiences of care can improve.

So far, it consists of a qualitative research report exploring the experiences of 20 women and a video sharing one woman’s story in depth.

Elisha's Story: Living with fibroids

This video highlights Elisha’s story of living with fibroids and accessing care in Lambeth, from diagnosis to treatment.

A big thank you to Elisha for sharing her story and to Lou Souza for filming and editing this video.
