    We did an Enter and view at Hillyard House, an extra care housing facility for 41 tenants providing care and support to a mixed clientele including older people, learning disabled adult and younger disabled people, and residents living with dementia.

    In this presentation to the Lambeth Council Health & Wellbeing Board, we highlighted why social relations are important, in relation to our priority areas including Poor Mental Health, Community based care and Cuts to welfare and care budgets.

    We carried out Enter and View visits at Helmi House, a Sanctuary Home Care for 46 tenants, currently providing care and support to 26 people of mixed ages including wheelchair users and two residents living with dementia.

    We did an Enter and View visits at Lingham Court, an extra care housing facility for 30 tenants, providing care and support to older people including wheelchair users and five residents living with dementia.

    We undertook a review of dementia services in the Clapham Park area of Lambeth during the second half of 2014, in order to gain an insight into the experiences of local residents with dementia and their carers (both paid and unpaid)

    We visited Dulwich Care Centre, a nursing home for 93 residents, providing nursing or personal care to older people, including people with physical disabilities and people living with dementia.

    Healthwatch Lambeth Trustees held a seminar on transforming primary care services (dental, GPs and community pharmacists) on June 10, 2015. The seminar took place from 6pm – 8pm at the Norwood Health and Leisure Centre.

    Over 2015, we carried out Enter & View visits to all 5 of Lambeth’s extra care schemes and held interviews with the on-site service providers to understand whether services are enabling people to have a good quality of life and improving independece.

    This visit programme contributes to one of Healthwatch Lambeth’s priority areas; access to community based services and their impact. We chose to focus on community pharmacies because most people use these services.

    Healthwatch Lambeth, Lewisham and Southwark contributed to the Care Quality Commission (CQC) inspector information pack prior to their inspection of South London and Maudsley (SLaM) NHS Trust in September 2015.

    Lambeth DataNet (LDN) was created in 2006 by Lambeth GPs with an interest in tackling health inequalities, by using anonymous information from GP patient records. This activity looked at promoting transparency in how the patient data in being used.

    We explored current understanding among residents of Vassal ward of how they would seek advice, information or support for a mental health concern.

    We aimed to gather older people’s views of being in hospital and to talk to patients about their perceptions of the discharge process.

    We visited Mosaic Clubhouse to hear from people about listen to how mental health service users perceive the quality of the support they receive at Mosaic Clubhouse and, if and how it enables them to manage and maintain their wellbeing.

    We were keen to learn from people who have mental health needs how they find information and advice about where they can seek help and support, and what their experiences of receiving this support has been.

    We carried out a follow up investigation in summer/autumn 2015 to gather views on services for people living with dementia independently in their own homes.

    As a provider of community based mental health support services, we chose to conduct an Enter and View visits at Living Well Network (LWN) Hub. A ‘front door’ to comprehensive community mental health and wellbeing support.

    We ran a series of Enter and Views into community services. Connelly House, run by Cyrenians, offers 24-hour supported accommodation for those with complex mental health needs.

    In 2015, we worked with Brook – the national sexual health charity to pilot ways of engaging with young people. A core volunteer group was recruited and trained as researchers to seek out health and social care experiences of their peers.

    In 2016 we conducted a series of six Enter and View visits to South London and Maudsley NHS Trust community mental health services. These included supported accommodation services, employment support services and clinical services.

    in October 2016 we invited all extra care residents in Lambeth to a tea and chat event at one of the extra care facilities. We wanted to find out how residents were feeling one year on from our review and what difference the grants may have begun.
