    Healthwatch Lambeth has today published "Trust Mother's Words," a report based on a research project funded by SEL Local Maternity and Neonatal services (LMNS) exploring the maternity care experiences of women from Black, Asian and minority ethnic communities, refugees, migrant and asylum-seekers, women living in areas of high deprivation and women with learning disabilities.

    The trust was rated ‘requires improvement’ for being safe, effective, responsive and well-led. It was rated ‘good’ for being caring, following the inspection in January and February 2019. Their previous overall rating was also ‘requires improvement'.

    In 2018 we visited our local hospital, King’s College Hospital with members of the LLDA to assess it for disability friendly signage. Members worked together to come up with recommendations on how the signage could better meet their needs.

    In February 2018, three teams visited Kings College Hospital to assess effectiveness and accessibility of signage for people with learning disabilities within the grounds and hospital.

    Local hospitals have joined together with care homes in Lambeth to introduce the ‘red bag’ scheme. The red bag helps to provide a prompt, safe and efficient transfer of clinical care, when a resident moves between a care home and clinical settings.
